Once a month, I buy a can of the Cafe Du Monde regular coffee and chicory coffee. I buy it locally so it does cost a bit more. I
think I will just buy a few in the mail, cut out the middle man and
save myself $5. I could buy a case this month because there is an extra payday. I could stretch those out for only twice a month and I would be set for a year. It would save me a chunk. I will think about it.
This coffee will grow hair on your chest! It is sooo good!
It is gonna be a sweaty one today. I watered all the plants inside and
out. I have a few tomato buds showing. It is sad that I have so little to show for this year. I am giving tomatoes away at this time. Oh well. Took care of the fur babies. I always make sure they get out, do their stuff, come in, eat, drink and have ample areas to lay to keep cool. And tossed laundry down the stairs.
This is my inside day. I will wash all the bed linens, curtains from the living room and any stray rag laying around. If I do that plus get the livingroom tidy, I will have accomplished alot. I think I will probably make something simple like
spaghetti for dinner <---no oven needed. Toss a salad and we are good!
I have that one wall to
paint in the room. Gotta get to it soon. Probably today.... I was hoping
to lose 5 lbs in flop sweat anyway. The kid comes home in a week. I have to go out to purchase her a mattress and box spring and a bed pillow. She will be all set. I found out from her that she will be leaving at the end of the year. She is moving in with a room mate. Her long time friend. She knows she is ready and she can do this. I am very happy for her and for us. So painting her room is a formality. Just showing her that I care..even though she wont be there very long. The boy will not get the room. Umm nope. We want to delete people in our house. One down, two to go. This summer has been so great. Less money has been spent. We got rid of cable. We are tossing stuff. It feels liberating!
I have finished my 2nd cup. I have another post to make and then I am off to sweat my ass off.

Ripe peaches are heaven
*244*
I am taking a break from painting the kid`s room. We had gotten more then half done yesterday. It has gotten humid a bit because of the rain but I want to get it done. It is a deeper red from what she had before. It is Behr Forbidden Red. The last red was a bright red. This is more subdued. Better bedroom color, I think.
I had my Mammo and a breast ultrasound. The conclusion is that my breasts are really dense. Especially the left one in the area where I and the Dr felt the lump. The tech showed me that we felt the upper ridge of the tissue. It feels like hills and valleys. So nothing scary! I have to redo every year. I will probably have to have ultrasounds too so that they are able to SEE anything. That was a big weight off my shoulders.
The kid comes home in mid August. I still have not had to buy a AC for the downstairs. We are surviving nicely and the electric bill has been low. I wish I could type more but this computer is a piece of shit. I could buy a new Mac this week if I wanted to but I have to start shopping for a new fridge. The seal is going on the fridge door. I want something nice but I will get a scratch and dent to save moula. The man is going back to 2nd shift starting this week. He will come home much earlier then before and he will make a little bit more money. He is happy where he is and I am happy for him.
That is about it. I have to change into my paint clothes and eat one of the local white skin peaches I bought today.

It`s brick outside
*245*
I will give you a little lesson in urban language. When someone says it is brick outside...it is as cold as a witches tit outside. Cold as a hibernating bears buttocks outside. It is like January out there! Thankfully, it is going to warm up soon. It is cold out but not as cold as the past couple of days. We even had a smidge of snow. It will be close to 60 deg F on Sunday so we can all stop our whining and get over it. I have leaves to rake and bag and windows to cover very soon.
The walkway and steps are all done. He just has to come back this weekend and fill in the gaps on the sides. This is the pic before he started pouring the cement. (see-ment)
Our stairs are fixed and we have a railing!!! You do not even know. I have wanted a railing since the first winter we lived here. Now anyone can use it to get up the stairs without struggling. Yes!
Too much excitement for a railing but it was much needed. He added an extra step because of the way he leveled the walkway. It is good. I was telling Kid number 2 that her little self would have loved this new walkway. Give her a fresh bucket of sidewalk chalk and she would have been in heaven.
Let me think. What else?
Everyone that I go to the gym with has something wrong with them so they cannot go. One is sick with that virus that is going around. One pulled a muscle in her calf from over doing it. And one fell down some stairs and sprained her ankle. I am all alone out there in gym land. I have no problem going. That is not it. I just get bored and I know if I do not have people to chit chat with, I will cut that shit short. There are tvs to watch so I guess I could do that but still...I like human interaction. We motivate each other. Nobody to motivate me now. Today is my NON GYM day anyway. I do not do Thursdays. I want one day were I can just do what I want or basically catch up on shit.
I just finished cleaning the downstairs bathroom. That is basically become the girl`s bathroom and for anyone that comes over. It is embarrassing. These girls do not clean a thing so when I get to it, it is awful. I boxed up kid number 1s bathroom stuff. We got rid of the toilet surround cabinet thing because it was Ikea and it was busted. So she had all her stuff on every surface in there. You could not clean. So I took a small cardboard box and put all her hair and face stuff in there and put the box on the floor. I will explain that it is better for now. It is gross for other people to use the bathroom and have to look at her stuff. With opened containers and hairs everywhere. She will brush her hair and then she has her hairs stuck on every damn surface. I love her but she should learn to clean up after herself.
Seriously!
I have a mini milestone to report. Last Spring, a friend gave me a few clothing items from her stash. Really nice things but all too small for me. They were put away for the warmer months. This past week she gave me another bag of stuff and in there was a red wool coat (length past my butt) and it was from LL Bean. Size 14-16. Too snug for me so I put it in closet. There was the grey wool Lane Bryant coat (same length) from the Spring. I wanted to try it on because of the cold snap. I have that long camel coat I bought for $5 this past Spring but I am not ready for that yet.
The size 14-16 coat fits me! Now, It is a bit snug in the shoulders. Usually when that happens, I will take it off but it was only a bit snug. It buttoned and fits perfectly. Hubs said it looks good. Now..I could never wear a bulky sweater underneath it but that is now.
This is the motivation that I needed. I had been slacking on the healthy eating. This fueled my engine that I can lose weight. I can wear nice things. I can be a size 14-16! I wish my ass and gut had gotten them memo from the upper body. My bottom half is in Purgatory. We are between sizes. I can wear a size 20 but it is getting too big. I have not found the right pair of size 18 that I can wear without pinching off the gut fat with the zipper. Sucks for sure.
Otherwise, everything is going fine. We are invited to a friend`s house for Thanksgiving this year. I am thankful for that. And when the weekend comes, I will be in short sleeves again!

The year of improvements!
*263*
The last loan we took out for home improvements is almost paid off so we are planning on doing another loan this summer. We already miss the money so might as well continue the trend and get some much needed stuff done.
Last time we did major stuff when we fixed the furnace, replaced the roof, and the porch. Now we want some cosmetics done. We also need to replace things that need replacing. It seems like everything is falling apart around us. There are a couple plumbing jobs, carpentry jobs outside of the house, new floors on the first floor, new fridge, replace the ancient dishwasher, paint some rooms different colors, and replace furniture with newer to us.
The washing machine JUST shit the bed this weekend. Hubs is getting pissed. I told him to relax. We will have the money to replace or repair it and everything will be fine.
The money will only be spent on what we need minus dinner out for the two of us. hehehe
All new towels, sheets, comforters, and pillows are on the top of my list after they fix the plumbing problems and the floors. We also need things like the furnace cleaned, new tires for the Jeep, over haul on the Nissan..stuff like that. Nat needs a new dresser..so we will scour yard sales over the summer to find one. I want to redo as much as I can. I am tired of being embarrassed about my home because of the floors. I want to be proud.
IF we get enough, and that is a big IF..we would also like to have the outside of the house painted. Crossing fingers that hubs knows people.
Wish I could afford a new kitchen.
