Our First Fresh Tree

*220*

Today I will be purchasing my first real live pine smelling Christmas tree. It will be a 3-4 footer. I dont want a super big tree cause our house is small. I think when I bought the smelly pine sticks for the tree last year, that was telling me something. All my childhood. we had a real tree for Christmas. Dad could complain about the price. He would tie it to the top of the car. The house would smell great. And needles in the carpet. I realized just recently that we stopped having fresh trees after he died in November 1983. My sister and her husband bought a fake tree for my Mom and that was that. I have had fake trees ever since. This last one is a prelit. I hate it! And it is 7 years old.. I was going to go out to buy a new fake one. But I decided to give a fresh one a try. Even if it is just for this year.

Thanksgiving was good. We had a keto feast. I did eat a little pie. That is okay too. I am human. I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done. I just have to pick up a couple things for the girls. I am still kinda bah humbug but since it is the 1st of December, I will give the holiday a chance. We decided on a ham for holiday dinner. Kid #2 and I will figure out the sides later. I am trying so hard to be 100% complaiant with the foods that I am allowed to eat. I just stressed out a tad and sometimes I just say fuck it and eat something I shouldnt. I have to be strong! I have more weight to lose. I am doing so well. I have to step up my game, get sneakers, shoe inserts, and start walking.

I was able to read the notes on my lower spine MRI. What I do know for sure from reading is that my L5S1 is extremely bad and my L4L5 is moderately bad. You would think I would be in more pain. I barely take a Tylenol. Lately my neck has been hurting more but I dont want to think about that. I go to the Yale Spine Center on January 3rd and we will see what the surgeon says about my issues.  I will try to leave this alone till I hear what he has to say.

I covered the windows too.

In the midst of doing this post, I had left to go do errands and pick up the tree. Isnt she the cutest? I had to secure the trunk because it was too skinny for the tree stand. It is very sturdy now. It is watered and we are going to leave it be today. Let it`s branches settle. Tomorrow we will deck the little honey out. I totally love it and I will probably do this again next year. It cost $25. What a good deal!

Okay..I have a shit ton of dishes to wash plus I have to make dinner, which I hate to do. I am tired and in pain. But I will push through cause when I am done, I am gonna soak in the tub and get into the bed and watch my YouTube favorites.

Have a great rest of your week!

Tired is as tired does

This is me..working her ass off to keep it clean
*263*

I have been doing so much lately around here that I am must plain tired. Spring cleaning and organizing can get a girl the case of the Zzzzz`s. After I am done here, I may or may not take a nap. That is up for consideration.

 What to talk about?? Hmm

I have finally decided on the color theme for the living room. The walls are going to be gray but I have not decided on the shade. I also want white trim, accents of black and a turquoise blue. I am going to go to Lowe`s and pick up some of those sample paints and try to decide what to do.
I am going to take all the pictures down off the walls. I want to change up a couple of the posters. I love reproductions of French advertising. I want the tealy turquoise look in there somehow. I do not know. I will figure it out. LOL I want new shades on the windows and accent drapes in black. There will be new flooring, new to us living room furniture, and a nice round rug in there. We are going to donate all the furniture in the house that we do not want to a charity that will come and pick it up. But first I need to start with the paint!  The kitchen will be blue but I have not figured out the other colors, so I am going to stick with my ideas with the livingroom for now.

I found a old handbag at salvation army yesterday. It is a small black purse with gold snap and small handle, with a bakelite accent and it is lined with the name Paray. From what I can gather online, that is an old name from the 40s. I paid $2.99 for it. I need a smaller wallet though. That is on my radar. My wallet clasp wont stay closed so this will give me a reason to buy a smaller bag. I love old bags like what my Mother would have used. Pretty snazzy!

Okay, yeah. My ass is tired. I am going to go lay down on the couch and watch some tv. Hopefully that will revive  me. I do not want this to be a wasted Saturday.

Have a good weekend and hope all is well.

Decorating for the Holiday season

Divas do not smile for the camera

Raymond and I cleaned the yard yesterday. Not the top yard but the side yard and I did the front of the house. I still have to do some out there but I will get to that after this. So since I had that pleasantly wonderful unexpected help, I decided I would go downstairs today and bring up all the Christmas decorations. The tree and all. I found the porch flag and the wreath for the door. Everything else was BURIED behind boxes and crap. I was a little bit pissed, to say the least. When we had the almost fire and then the electrician..Fred decided to clean the basement. He basically cleaned the main area and SHOVED everything in the storage area on the side. EVERYTHING. Guess what was behind all of that?
Christmas!
After I screamed that he was dead meat..hehehe..he came downstairs and got all my Christmas crap. Thank you, big hug and kiss. All is right with my world.
So I am not too bah humbuggy I guess. I am willing to look at Christmas decorations for longer then a month. That must mean something.
Now, hopefully Ruby and Milo will not destroy shit this year. This is both of their first Christmas together. One could climb and knock over the tree, the other could digest it. So I will be on my toes with those two.
All the animals still have fleas. I have to go to the vet and pick up some treatments on Monday. Lu is still favoring her back leg but she is using it. I do not want her to suffer (she is not complaining) but I do not want to pay a vet bill for her being dainty. She could have a slight sprain but favor it forever cause she does not like to hurt. This is the dog that screamed bloody murder when her feet touched snow.  I have made the decision to make my decision on Wednesday. If she is still favoring it the same as now with no improvement, she will go to the vet.
Okay, time to finish my umpteenth coffee, slap a bra on the girls, and finish my yard work!
Is it January yet?
